Blunt To Step Down As Whip
House Minority Whip Roy Blunt will not seek re-election to his leadership post, leaving the field open for Chief Deputy Minority Whip
Eric Cantor
of Virginia. Blunt said he is convinced that Cantor will "do a great
job" as whip. Blunt said he will not pursue any other leadership
position and will instead focus on his duties as a member of the House
Energy and Commerce Committee. More details will be available in this
afternoon's
CongressDailyPM (subscription).
